Fans request Somali-British YouTuber Chunkz to visit Eastleigh during Kenyan trip

Born on February 21, 1996, in England, Chunkz began his YouTube journey in 2015, initially posting vlogs, challenges, and pranks.

Fans have requested Somali-British YouTuber Chunkz, whose real name is Amin Mohamed, to visit Eastleigh.

Amin, who is visiting Kenya, took to his Instagram to ask his Kenyan followers what makes Eastleigh so special, highlighting the numerous requests he has received to visit the area.

“Everyone is telling me to visit Eastleigh in Kenya. What is there?” he posted.

Chunkz is currently in Kenya with his friends from the Beta Squad, a group consisting of Chunkz, Sharky, Kenny, AJ, and Niko. The five-member group is in the country for charity work focused on providing safe water for school-going children in the western region.

During their visit, they visited several primary schools to promote the message: “Safe water for all.” However, it remains unclear if they will host a meet-and-greet event in Nairobi.

Known for his vlogs, challenges, and comic videos, Chunkz also had a brief music career, which he set aside to focus on his relationship with Allah. He has a substantial following on YouTube, with over 3 million subscribers.

On Instagram, Chunkz entertains over 4 million followers with his funny videos, charity endeavours, and travel updates.

Chunkz dropped out of London Metropolitan University, where he was studying Financial Mathematics, to pursue his YouTube career full-time.

In a 2022 interview with the Guardian, he shared that he realized during his first week of lectures that he couldn't continue with the course, feeling immense pressure from his parents.

“I remember waking up for a lecture during the first few weeks of university, and I genuinely stared at my ceiling for 45 minutes, near tears, just thinking: I can’t do this. I had this pressure weighing on me that my parents wouldn’t accept me leaving,” he told the Guardian.

“My dad avoided eye contact and my mother became really upset. As I was talking to them, I was doing damage control.”

His parents moved to the United Kingdom in the 1980s from Somaliland.

Born on February 21, 1996, in England, Chunkz began his YouTube journey in 2015, initially posting vlogs, challenges, and pranks.

His breakthrough came with his participation in Big Shaq's 2017 viral music video "Man's Not Hot," which significantly boosted his popularity. He has since collaborated with Yung Filly, creating popular tracks like "Clean Up" and "Hold." In 2019, he joined the Beta Squad, a collective of British YouTubers.

He co-hosts Sky Sports' Saturday morning show #SaturdaySocial and was a co-host for the 2020 MOBO Awards alongside Maya Jama. Additionally, he has been involved in presenting extreme sports tournaments such as The Aphetor Games.

According to Hiiraan Online, Chunkz is of Somali descent and the youngest of five siblings. Raised in northwest London, he has spoken about the challenges and blessings of growing up in a multicultural environment. Despite facing anti-Somali rhetoric during his school years, he has expressed pride in his heritage and actively engages in social issues.
